The NZVJ is a high quality peer-reviewed scientific journal. It publishes original research findings, clinical observations, rapid communications, correspondence and review articles covering all aspects of veterinary science, animal welfare, and animal health aspects of animal science.

The NZVJ specialises in articles that are of particular interest and relevance to the New Zealand veterinary profession, like grazing cattle, sheep and deer, and performance horses. Submissions from all disciplines are welcomed.

The NZVJ is available in printed copy, and online at SciQuest in a fully indexed and searchable format. The complete archive (57 years of peer-reviewed veterinary science) can be viewed at www.sciquest.org.nz and www.ingentaconnect.com.
